Why that page looked shitty

It's because I've used some style sheet techniques that do NOT work in Netscape 4.x or similiar older, obsolete browsers. I refuse to limit myself to what Netscape 4.x can do; but I don't want to bar you just for using a browser I no longer like. Therefore, I've designed the pages such that Netscape 4.x won't load the style sheets at all. That way, there's no way your browser can crash because it encounters code it can't handle.

Netscape 4.x was released in 1997, making it a very old, obsolete browser. If you surf with it a lot, you've probably noticed it crashes more than it did a few years ago, and that a lot of pages look crappy or are even unreadable. The Web and HTML and CSS2 have evolved to the point where Netscape 4.x can barely handle them any more.

I'd like to take this opportunity to encourage you to get a newer, better browser -- preferably Mozilla, which doesn't come with all of Netscape 6.x's advertising and spyware junk and which has a lot of nifty capabilities, such as being able to block popup ads and delete individual cookies. That's what I use.

However, if for any reason at all you continue to use Netscape 4.x, you're still welcome here. You'll miss out on most of my ultra-cool nifty coding, but you'll be able to read my stories. And the point of the whole thing is content, right?

Use Netscape's Back button on the upper left to return to whatever page you were on before.
